When over 100 million people in the America were viewing the Super Bowl playoff on Sunday afternoon, we were strolling up and down the planks of the Santa Monica Pier. After an easy breezy walk by the beach, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at Buca Di Beppo with friends from oversea. There’s an old Chinese saying, “有朋自遠方來, 不易樂乎! (It is such a delight to have friends coming from afar!)”, best describe our trip to Santa Monica on a Super Bowl Sunday.
As a matter of fact, JJJ had never visited Santa Monica together before. It was such a wonderful excuse and a very nice treat to spend an afternoon on the boardwalk, enjoy lively street performers, catch the best sunsets along the California coast, have a family style Italian dinner at Buca, and explore the blocks of pedestrian-oriented shopping district after dinner. Needless to say, we did not miss the opportunity to ride on the large Ferris wheel. The eight minutes ride took us right back to our childhood memories.
