Who says free is no good…
We took an advantage of Queen Mary’s special deal for California residents (saved about $63), found a free weekend in January, and paid a tribute to this 78 years old World War II veteran in Long Beach, California.
I was really appreciative of all our modern amenities, as we walked through the self-guided tour and peeked into the officer’s quarters, different classes of staterooms, and dining accommodations. We also checked out the wheelhouse, navigational equipment, engine room, generator room and boiler rooms, and had a very interesting viewing of the propeller in the underwater box.
The highlight of our trip was on the sport deck, while all the kids went crazy climbing up and down on the anti-aircraft guns, all the adults enjoyed the spectacular ocean and skyline view of Long Beach as the sun was setting and sky changed its colors.
